Pharmacies with the Morning After Pill in stock
The Morning After Pill
You may be worried about becoming pregnant if your usual contraception has failed or you have had unprotected sex. The morning after pill (MAP) could be one of the options available to you in this case.
Getting the MAP
While currently not possible to order the MAP online from a Malta-based pharmacy, a pharmacist at any of the pharmacies listed below should be able to provide the morning-after pill following a private chat.
In fact, while not mandatory, it is common for a pharmacist to ask a number of questions before they dispense the morning-after pill. Some pharmacies sell the pill only after the person buying it has answered a few questions or, in some cases, filled in a short questionnaire. In most cases you will be asked to provide your ID card. So be prepared.
After helping you understand all of your options based on your need for emergency contraception, the pharmacist will advise if one of the morning after pills is suitable for you.
The sooner you take the morning-after pill after unprotected sex, the greater the chances of avoiding pregnancy. The morning after pill should not be used on a regular basis as it is intended for emergency use only.
If you discover you are pregnant
Pregnancy is a life-changing experience and may be overwhelming particularly if alone, fearful of parents' or partner's reactions, still at school, planning a career or finding oneself in difficult social circumstances. For these reasons, dealing with an unexpected pregnancy may cause a great deal of turmoil.
You have an important decision to make. Seeking professional counsel from a mental health professional is therefore recommended in case of emotional distress.
